1st Holmes Chapel Scout Group’s 100 year celebratory trip to Kandersteg (Switzerland) and Paris 2026
We are incredibly excited to be sharing details of our 100 year celebratory international trip!
Dates: 7th-16th August 2026
(Please note that the date on this event is the deposit payment date, not the event date!)
Trip Info
- All current Cub and Scout members are receiving this invite, including those who will have moved from Scouts to Explorers by the time of the trip.
- Trip organised and coordinated by Venture Abroad.
- Travel by coach through France to Switzerland. 7 Days/6 nights at Kandersteg International Scout Centre.
- Travel back via Paris with a day in Disneyland.
Detailed itinerary TBC but activities could include; Hiking, trips to glacial lakes, cheese and chocolate tasting, international camp fires, abseiling, team building and the chance to meet and mix with Scouts from all over the world!
This trip is set to be a once in a lifetime experience for all those attending.
Payments (please note these are non-refundable)
- £75 deposit is needed at time of sign up (this must be made within the next 2 weeks).
- £100 payment needed by 15th May 2024.
- £100 payment needed by 10th July 2024.
- Remainder of the payment will be needed in January 2026 but the amount will be confirmed nearer the time and will depend on how much we can raise.
Current estimated cost is around £1325 per person.
Expectations
- Anyone signed up must stay actively involved in Scouting until the trip. For Scouts moving up to Explorers we will expect them to keep involved with the group e.g. as a young leader
- All participants to be involved with fundraising.
- All to get involved with team building activities to prepare for the trip.

- Executive coach hire with reclining seats, lap belts, DVD player, drinks machine and toilet for the duration of the trip.
- Return ferry crossings.
- 7 days/6 nights’ accommodation at KISC
